Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Cornstarch - 50 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ground ginger, and black pepper. Add the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- After marinating, sprinkle the cornstarch over the tofu and toss until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the tofu cubes in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the tofu for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, alongside a dipping sauce of your choice.
