Ingredients
- chicken wings - 500 grams
- soy sauce - 60 ml
- honey - 30 grams
- rice vinegar - 15 ml
- garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- cornstarch - 30 grams
- green onions - 2, sliced for garnish
- sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- After marination, remove the wings from the marinade and let excess liquid drip off. Reserve the marinade for later use.
- Sprinkle cornstarch evenly over the wings and toss to coat; this will help achieve a crispy texture.
- Place the wings on a lined baking tray in a single layer.
- Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- While the wings are baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and brush with the thickened marinade.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
