Ingredients

  • chicken wings - 500 grams
  • soy sauce - 60 ml
  • honey - 30 grams
  • rice vinegar - 15 ml
  • garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • cornstarch - 30 grams
  • green onions - 2, sliced for garnish
  • sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  3. Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. After marination, remove the wings from the marinade and let excess liquid drip off. Reserve the marinade for later use.
  5. Sprinkle cornstarch evenly over the wings and toss to coat; this will help achieve a crispy texture.
  6. Place the wings on a lined baking tray in a single layer.
  7. Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. While the wings are baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  9. Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and brush with the thickened marinade.
  10. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
