Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
  • Whole wheat bread - 4 slices
  • Green onion (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Egg white - 1
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Panko breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
  • Olive oil - for frying

Steps

  1. In a food processor, combine shrimp, green onion, garlic, ginger, egg white, sesame oil, soy sauce, and black pepper. Process until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Spread the shrimp mixture evenly on each slice of whole wheat bread, pressing it down gently.
  3. Place the panko breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. Carefully press the shrimp-covered side of each bread slice into the breadcrumbs to coat.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the shrimp toast slices, shrimp side down, and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Flip the toast and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the other side is crispy.
  6. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with a side of soy sauce for dipping.
