  • Cornstarch - 30 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Cold water - 100 ml
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 200 ml

Steps

  1. Cut the nori seaweed sheets into strips or desired shapes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and chili powder (if using).
  3. Gradually add cold water to the dry mixture, whisking until you achieve a smooth batter.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

  6. Fry the seaweed in batches for about 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the crispy seaweed with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve hot as a snack or side dish, optionally garnished with sesame seeds or served with a dipping sauce.
