- Cornflour - 50 grams
- Rice flour - 30 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- White pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil (for frying) - 500 ml
- Spring onions (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon wedges (for serving) - 2
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cornflour, rice flour, salt, black pepper, white pepper, garlic powder, and chili flakes.
- Toss the cleaned and sliced squid in the flour mixture until evenly coated.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or wok over medium-high heat until hot (about 180°C/350°F).
- Carefully add the coated squid in batches to the hot oil, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the squid from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- In a large bowl, toss the crispy squid with sesame oil and chopped spring onions.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
