Ingredients

  • Prawns (fresh, peeled and deveined) - 200g
  • Spring roll wrappers - 10 sheets
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 500ml
  • Lettuce leaves (for serving) - 4 leaves
  • Sweet chili sauce (for dipping) - 50ml

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the prawns, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Take a spring roll wrapper and place 1-2 tablespoons of the prawn mixture near one edge. Fold the sides over the filling, then roll tightly to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Carefully add the prawn rolls in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Once cooked, remove the rolls and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. Serve the crispy prawn rolls on a plate lined with lettuce leaves, accompanied by sweet chili sauce for dipping.
