Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Cornstarch - 60 grams
  • Vegetable oil - 200 ml (for frying)
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Rice vinegar - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 5 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves (minced)
  • Green onions - 2 stalks (chopped)
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 2 cm cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with salt and black pepper.
  3. Coat each tofu cube in the cornstarch mixture, ensuring all sides are covered.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, add the tofu cubes in a single layer, frying for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  6. Remove the fried tofu from the pan and place it on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and minced garlic to make the dipping sauce.
  8. Serve the crispy tofu hot, garnished with chopped green onions and accompanied by the dipping sauce.
