  • Cornstarch - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Red chili flakes - to taste

Steps

  1. Cut the fish fillets and tofu into bite-sized pieces, ensuring they are uniform for even cooking.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Dip each piece of fish and tofu into the beaten egg, then coat them in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully covered.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. Fry the fish pieces in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. In the same oil, fry the tofu pieces for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onions, grated ginger, and red chili flakes to create the sauce.
  8. Serve the crispy fish and tofu on a plate, drizzled with the soy sauce mixture.
