Ingredients

  • Canned chickpeas - 400 grams, drained and rinsed
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, sliced for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained chickpeas, cornstarch, vegetable oil, garlic powder, five-spice powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the chickpeas are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chickpeas are golden brown and crispy. Shake the baking sheet halfway through for even cooking.
