  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil - 250 ml (for frying)
  • Corn tortillas - 4
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Sriracha sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine diced chicken breast with garlic powder, five-spice powder, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare a breading station: Place cornstarch in one plate, the beaten egg in another, and mix all-purpose flour with a pinch of salt in a third plate.
  3. Coat each piece of marinated chicken first in cornstarch, then dip in the beaten egg, and finally coat with the flour mixture.
  4. In a deep pan, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken pieces in batches and fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
