- Chickpeas - 200 grams, cooked
- Carrot - 50 grams, grated
- Coriander leaves - 30 grams, chopped
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Steamed bao buns - 2 pieces
- Cucumber - 50 grams, thinly sliced
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, mash the cooked chickpeas with a fork until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.
- Add grated carrot, chopped coriander leaves, green onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper to the mashed chickpeas. Mix well until combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with a little oil. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
- While the patties are cooking, steam the bao buns according to package instructions until soft and warm.
- Assemble the burger by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bao bun, followed by the cooked patty, cucumber slices, and then the top half of the bun.
