Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Fresh coriander leaves - 30 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Vegan mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then crumble it into a bowl.
  2. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped coriander leaves, soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, black pepper, and salt to the crumbled tofu. Mix well until combined.
  3. Form the mixture into two burger patties.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the tofu patty, sliced tomato, and cucumber. Spread vegan mayonnaise on the top half of the bun and place it on top.
