- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Fresh coriander leaves - 30 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Steamed bao buns - 2 pieces
- Cucumber - 50 grams, thinly sliced
- Pickled carrots - 50 grams
- Chili sauce - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture and then crumble it into a mixing bowl.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped coriander leaves, soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to the crumbled tofu and mix well until combined.
- Shape the tofu mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the tofu patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- In the meantime, steam the bao buns according to package instructions until soft and warm.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a tofu patty on each bao bun, topping with sliced cucumber, pickled carrots, and a drizzle of chili sauce.
