- 100g firm tofu, crumbled
- 50g shiitake mushrooms, finely chopped
- 50g carrot, grated
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 whole grain steamed buns
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine crumbled tofu, chopped shiitake mushrooms, grated carrot, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a patty mixture.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- While the patties are cooking, steam the whole grain buns for about 5 minutes until they are warm and soft.
- To assemble, spread hoisin sauce on the bottom half of each bun, place a cooked patty on top, and garnish with fresh cilantro.
- Top with the other half of the bun, and serve immediately.
