Ingredients

  • Soft tofu - 200 grams
  • Dried chrysanthemum flowers - 10 grams
  • Vegetable broth - 500 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 cm piece, sliced
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • White pepper - to taste
  • Chili oil - optional, for serving

Steps

  1. Rinse the dried chrysanthemum flowers under cold water and set aside.
  2. In a pot, heat the vegetable broth over medium heat and add the minced garlic and sliced ginger.
  3. Bring the broth to a gentle simmer, then add the rinsed chrysanthemum flowers and cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Carefully add the soft tofu to the pot, breaking it into large chunks if desired, and let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat, and add in the chopped spring onions.
  7. Serve hot, with a drizzle of chili oil if desired.
