- Fresh chives - 30 grams, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
- While the rice is cooking, heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the chopped chives and cook for an additional minute, allowing the chives to soften slightly.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and add it to the frying pan with the chives and garlic.
- Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice and gently stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Serve warm as a main dish or side.
