Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 300 grams
  • Fresh chives - 50 grams, chopped
  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons for frying

Steps

  1. Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes, then boil them in salted water for about 10-12 minutes or until tender. Drain and mash the potatoes in a large bowl.
  2. Add the chopped chives, all-purpose flour, water, salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix well until a dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each portion into a flat round cake about 1 cm thick.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place one potato cake in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the second cake, adding more oil if necessary.
  5. Remove the cakes from the skillet and let them cool slightly before serving. Cut into wedges and enjoy warm.
