- Potatoes - 300 grams
- Fresh chives - 50 grams, chopped
- All-purpose flour - 100 grams
- Water - 100 ml
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons for frying
Steps
- Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes, then boil them in salted water for about 10-12 minutes or until tender. Drain and mash the potatoes in a large bowl.
- Add the chopped chives, all-purpose flour, water, salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix well until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each portion into a flat round cake about 1 cm thick.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place one potato cake in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the second cake, adding more oil if necessary.
- Remove the cakes from the skillet and let them cool slightly before serving. Cut into wedges and enjoy warm.
