Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 150 grams
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 80 ml
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Sesame seeds - for garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Gradually add the water while mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  4. After resting, divide the dough into two equal parts and roll each part into a long strip about 1-2 cm thick.
  5. Take one strip and stack it on top of the other, then gently press down in the center to create a combined dough piece.
  6. Twist the stacked dough gently to form a spiral shape, then pinch the ends to seal.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  8. Fry the twisted dough in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  9. Remove the doughnuts from the oil and drain on paper towels. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
