Ingredients

  • Chinese broccoli (Gai Lan) - 200g
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onion - 1, chopped
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch the Chinese broccoli for 2-3 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  2. Immediately transfer the broccoli to an ice bath to stop the cooking process, then drain and pat dry.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the blanched Chinese broccoli, red bell pepper, and carrot.
