Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs - 400 grams, boneless and skinless
  • Chili oil - 4 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Toast sesame seeds - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chili oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, brown sugar, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off excess marinade. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
  5. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve the sliced chili oil chicken garnished with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
