- Fresh ginger - 1 inch, grated
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into shrimp-like pieces.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the tofu pieces to the marinade and let them soak for at least 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, toss the marinated tofu pieces in cornstarch until well coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the coated tofu and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

- Return the tofu to the skillet, toss everything together, and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
