- Beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chili bean paste - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 medium, sliced
- Spring onions - 2, chopped for garnish
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil, then add the minced garlic, ginger, and sliced onion. Stir-fry for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the sliced red and green bell peppers to the pan and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
- Return the beef to the pan, then add the chili bean paste and sesame oil. Stir well to combine and heat through for another 2 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.
