Ingredients
- Halal pork sausage - 300 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Hoisin sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Spring onions - 2, chopped for garnish
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, five-spice powder, black pepper, sesame oil, and chili flakes to create a marinade.
- Add the Halal pork sausages to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for best flavor.
- Preheat your charcoal grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread the marinated sausages onto skewers if desired, or place them directly on the grill.
- Grill the sausages for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until they are evenly charred and cooked through.
- Remove the sausages from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.
