Ingredients
- Beef sirloin - 300 grams, cut into 2 cm cubes
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Shaoxing wine - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Ground white pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - for grilling
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
- Peanut sauce - for serving (optional)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, ground white pepper, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Add the beef cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for best results).
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated beef cubes onto the soaked skewers, leaving some space between each piece for even cooking.
- Brush the grill with vegetable oil and place the skewers on the grill. Cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is nicely charred and cooked to your desired doneness.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with peanut sauce on the side if desired.
