Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Butter lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Sliced cucumber - 100 grams
  • Sliced tomato - 100 grams
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, cilantro, red chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of oil. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the lettuce wraps by rinsing the butter lettuce leaves and patting them dry.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing each patty in a lettuce leaf and topping with sliced cucumber, sliced tomato, and a dollop of mayonnaise if desired.
  6. Wrap the lettuce around the fillings and enjoy your Chaozhou Beef Burger!
