Ingredients

  • Whole wheat pizza base - 1 (30 cm diameter)
  • Chow mein noodles - 150 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Green onion - 2, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish
  • Crushed red pepper flakes - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. Cook the chow mein noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced red bell pepper and julienned carrot to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the skillet along with the soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss everything together and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  6. Spread the noodle mixture evenly over the whole wheat pizza base.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the noodle mixture.
  8. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Remove the pizza from the oven, garnish with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro, and add crushed red pepper flakes to taste.
  10. Slice and serve hot.
