- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Warm water - 100 ml
- Instant yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 5 grams
- Salt - 3 grams
- Vegetable oil - 10 ml (for dough)
- Cabbage - 100 grams, finely chopped
- Carrot - 50 grams, grated
- Bell pepper - 50 grams, diced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 10 grams, minced
- Soy sauce - 15 ml
- Sesame oil - 5 ml
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Salt and pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, instant yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add all-purpose flour, salt, and vegetable oil to the yeast mixture. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm place.
- Meanwhile, prepare the filling. In a pan, heat 10 ml of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add the chopped cabbage, grated carrot, and diced bell pepper to the pan. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, and mix well. Add chopped green onions, season with salt and pepper, and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten it into a circle (about 10 cm in diameter).
- Place a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of each dough circle. Bring the edges together to seal the filling inside and form a bun. Pinch the top to secure.
- Place the buns on parchment paper and let them rest for another 10 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare a steamer.
- Steam the buns in the steamer for about 15 minutes until they are fluffy and cooked through. Serve hot.
