Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground halal beef - 150 grams
  • Cabbage - 100 grams, finely chopped
  • Carrot - 50 grams, grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the ground beef, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and chopped spring onions until well combined.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
  4. Divide the rested dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
  5. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape, sealing the edges tightly by pinching them together.
  6. Arrange the filled dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
