Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Water - 100 ml
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground halal beef - 150 grams
- Cabbage - 100 grams, finely chopped
- Carrot - 50 grams, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the ground beef, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and chopped spring onions until well combined.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Divide the rested dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape, sealing the edges tightly by pinching them together.
- Arrange the filled dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
