Ingredients
- Wonton wrappers - 12 pieces
- Ground chicken - 100 grams
- Shrimp, peeled and deveined - 50 grams
- Green onions, finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
- White pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chicken broth (kosher) - 500 ml
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish - optional
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped shrimp, green onions, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and white pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling mixture into the center of the wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold the wrapper in half to create a triangle, and press to seal. Then bring the two corners of the triangle together, pinching to seal completely. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a gentle simmer. Carefully add the wontons to the broth and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.
- Taste the broth and adjust seasoning with salt as needed.
- Serve the wontons in bowls with hot broth, garnished with fresh cilantro if desired.
