Ingredients

  • Ground Halal pork - 300 grams
  • Shallots - 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Water - 150 milliliters

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground Halal pork, chopped shallots, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Transfer the pork mixture to a heatproof dish, spreading it evenly. Make a few indentations or holes in the mixture to allow steam to circulate.
  3. Fill a steamer pot or a large pot with water, ensuring the water level is below the dish. Bring the water to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, place the dish with the pork mixture in the steamer. Cover with a lid and steam for about 20 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and no longer pink inside.
  5. Carefully remove the dish from the steamer. Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.
