Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs - 300 grams, boneless and skinless
  • Ginger - 10 grams, sliced thinly
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Chinese rice wine (Shaoxing wine) - 15 ml
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, Chinese rice wine, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare a steamer by boiling water in a pot.
  4. Place the marinated chicken in a heatproof dish and top with sliced ginger and chopped spring onions.
  5. Once the water is boiling, place the dish with chicken in the steamer, cover, and steam for about 15 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
  6. Remove the dish from the steamer and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
