- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Chinese rice wine (Shaoxing wine) - 15 ml
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves - for garnish
Steps
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, Chinese rice wine, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Prepare a steamer by boiling water in a pot.
- Place the marinated chicken in a heatproof dish and top with sliced ginger and chopped spring onions.
- Once the water is boiling, place the dish with chicken in the steamer, cover, and steam for about 15 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Remove the dish from the steamer and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
