Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
  • Cabbage (finely chopped) - 50 grams
  • Green onion (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Psyllium husk powder - 2 tablespoons
  • Almond flour - 100 grams
  • Egg (beaten) - 1
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - as needed for dough

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp, chopped cabbage, green onion, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix the almond flour and psyllium husk powder. Add the beaten egg and enough water to form a smooth, pliable dough. Knead for a few minutes until the dough is well-combined.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball) and flatten each ball into a round disc using a rolling pin.
  4. Place a spoonful of the shrimp filling in the center of each disc. Fold the edges over the filling to form a half-moon shape, pinching the edges to seal tightly.
  5. Prepare a steamer by filling it with water and bringing it to a boil. Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, making sure they are not touching each other.
  6. Steam the dumplings for about 15-20 minutes or until the shrimp is cooked through and the dumpling skin is firm.
  7. Serve hot with a side of low-carb dipping sauce made from soy sauce and a splash of sesame oil.
