Ingredients
- Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
- Cabbage (finely chopped) - 50 grams
- Green onion (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
- Soy sauce (low sodium) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Psyllium husk powder - 2 tablespoons
- Almond flour - 100 grams
- Egg (beaten) - 1
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - as needed for dough
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp, chopped cabbage, green onion, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the almond flour and psyllium husk powder. Add the beaten egg and enough water to form a smooth, pliable dough. Knead for a few minutes until the dough is well-combined.
- Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball) and flatten each ball into a round disc using a rolling pin.
- Place a spoonful of the shrimp filling in the center of each disc. Fold the edges over the filling to form a half-moon shape, pinching the edges to seal tightly.
- Prepare a steamer by filling it with water and bringing it to a boil. Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, making sure they are not touching each other.
- Steam the dumplings for about 15-20 minutes or until the shrimp is cooked through and the dumpling skin is firm.
- Serve hot with a side of low-carb dipping sauce made from soy sauce and a splash of sesame oil.
