Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Hoisin sauce - 15 ml
  • Chinese five-spice powder - 5 grams
  • Brown sugar substitute (like erythritol) - 5 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large leaves
  • Cucumber - 50 grams, sliced thinly
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili sauce (optional) - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, five-spice powder, brown sugar substitute, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create a marinade.
  3. Place the pork belly in a resealable bag or dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it is well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. After marinating, place the pork belly on a baking tray lined with foil and roast in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).
  5. Once cooked, let the pork rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly.
  6. To assemble the burgers, take a lettuce leaf and layer slices of roast pork, cucumber, and chopped spring onions. Drizzle with sesame oil and chili sauce if desired.
  7. Wrap the lettuce around the fillings and serve immediately.
