Ingredients

  • Fresh clams - 500 grams
  • Water - 600 milliliters
  • Fresh ginger - 10 grams, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Spring onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Cilantro - 10 grams, chopped
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • White pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the fresh clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit.
  2. In a pot, bring 600 milliliters of water to a boil.
  3. Add the sliced ginger and minced garlic to the boiling water and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the clams to the pot and cover. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams open up.
  5. Discard any clams that do not open.
  6. Stir in the salt, white pepper, and sesame oil.
  7. Remove from heat and add the chopped spring onions and cilantro.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with additional spring onions and cilantro if desired.
