Ingredients

  • Green cabbage - 4 large leaves
  • Ground pork - 200 grams
  • Shiitake mushrooms - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Chicken broth - 200 ml

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the cabbage leaves and blanch for 2-3 minutes until softened. Remove and set aside to cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shiitake mushrooms, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and beaten egg. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  3. Place a cabbage leaf on a flat surface. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture onto the leaf's center. Fold the sides over the filling and then roll from the bottom to the top to form a tight roll. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
  4. In a large skillet, add the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Carefully place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the skillet. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until the meat is cooked through.
  5. Serve hot, drizzled with additional soy sauce or sesame oil if desired.
