Ingredients

  • Eggs - 4 large
  • Cabbage - 150 grams, finely shredded
  • Ground pork - 100 grams (or chicken/beef as a substitute)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon (low sodium, if desired)
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Butter or oil - for frying

Steps

  1. In a skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of butter or oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground pork to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked. Stir in the finely shredded cabbage, soy sauce, and sesame oil, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cabbage is tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and add a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. In a separate non-stick skillet, add a little butter or oil and heat over medium-low. Pour half of the egg mixture into the skillet, swirling to coat the bottom evenly.
  5. Cook the omelette for about 2-3 minutes until the edges start to lift. Spoon half of the cabbage and pork mixture onto one half of the omelette.
  6. Carefully fold the other half of the omelette over the filling and cook for an additional minute. Slide the omelette onto a plate and repeat with the remaining ingredients for the second serving.
