- Jasmine rice - 150 grams
- Green cabbage - 200 grams, finely shredded
- Carrot - 50 grams, julienned
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 20 minutes.
- In a medium pot, bring 300 ml of water to a boil. Add the soaked rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- While the rice is cooking, heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the shredded cabbage and julienned carrots to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
- Stir in the chopped spring onions and cook for an additional minute.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and add it to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, mixing everything well.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat through before serving.
