Ingredients

  • Cabbage leaves - 8 large
  • Ground chicken - 200 grams
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Carrot - 1 small, grated
  • Mushrooms - 100 grams, finely chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch the cabbage leaves for 2-3 minutes until soft. Drain and set aside to cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, green onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated carrot, chopped mushrooms, cilantro, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Lay a cabbage leaf on a clean surface and place about 2 tablespoons of the filling mixture at the base of the leaf. Roll the leaf tightly, folding in the sides as you go to seal the filling inside.
  4. Repeat the rolling process with the remaining leaves and filling mixture.
  5. In a large skillet, place the rolls seam-side down and add a splash of water. Cover and steam for about 10-12 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Remove from heat and serve warm, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
