  • Cabbage, finely shredded - 150 grams
  • Carrot, grated - 100 grams
  • Spring onions, chopped - 2 stalks
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt, then gradually add warm water while mixing until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, chopped spring onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and cornstarch until well combined.
  4. Divide the dough into two equal portions and roll each portion into a thin circle about 25 cm in diameter.
  5. Place half of the vegetable filling on one half of each dough circle, then fold the other half over to create a semi-circle. Press the edges to seal tightly.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the filled pies and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the pies from the skillet and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. Cut into wedges and serve warm.
