- Pork shoulder - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Water - 200 ml
- Lettuce leaves (Butter or Romaine) - 4 large leaves
- Cucumber - 1, thinly sliced
- Carrot - 1, julienned
- Red chili - 1, sliced (optional)
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
Steps
- Cut the pork shoulder into large chunks and season with salt and pepper.
- In a pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat and add minced garlic and ginger. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the pork to the pot and sear on all sides until browned.
- Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and water. Bring to a simmer.
- Cover and reduce heat to low. Let the pork braise for about 1.5 hours or until tender, stirring occasionally.
- Once the pork is tender, shred it with two forks and mix it with the braising liquid.
- Prepare the lettuce wraps by washing and drying the leaves.
- To assemble, place shredded pork in the center of a lettuce leaf, topped with cucumber, carrot, and red chili if using.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
