Ingredients

  • Chicken wings - 500 grams
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Oyster sauce - 30 ml
  • Rice vinegar - 15 ml
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Water - 250 ml

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, and sesame oil to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  3. In a large skillet or pot, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken wings and sear them for about 5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
  4. Pour in the water, cover the skillet, and reduce the heat to low. Let the wings braise for 30 minutes, turning them occasionally.
  5. Once the wings are tender and the sauce has thickened, remove from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
