Ingredients
- Beef chuck roast - 300g, cut into cubes
- Daikon radish - 200g, peeled and cut into thick slices
- Soy sauce - 2 tbsp
- Oyster sauce - 1 tbsp
- Ginger - 1 inch, sliced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Beef broth - 250ml
- Sesame oil - 1 tsp
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Cooking oil - 1 tbsp
Steps
- Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and sear until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and sliced ginger to the pot, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and beef broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Add the daikon radish slices, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low, allowing it to braise for about 60 minutes.
- After 60 minutes, check the beef for tenderness; it should be fork-tender. If necessary, continue braising for an additional 15-30 minutes.
- Once tender, stir in the sesame oil and adjust seasoning with salt if needed. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
