  • Oyster sauce (vegetarian) - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable broth - 150 milliliters
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. If using fresh bamboo shoots, peel and slice them thinly. If using canned, drain and rinse them under cold water.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced bamboo shoots to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and vegetable broth. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Cover the skillet and let it braise for about 15 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  6. After 15 minutes, uncover, and taste to adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper as needed.
  7. Drizzle sesame oil over the bamboo shoots and stir gently to combine.
