Ingredients
- all-purpose flour - 150g
- water - 75ml
- sugar - 25g
- yeast - 5g
- salt - 2g
- vegetable oil - 15ml
- black sesame seeds - 50g
- black sesame paste - 50g
- milk - 30ml
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Once mixed, add the frothy yeast mixture and vegetable oil.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Form it into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl, covering it with a damp cloth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing black sesame paste with crushed black sesame seeds in a bowl.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle shape on a floured surface.
- Spread the black sesame filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log shape, then slice it into 6 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls into a greased baking dish and let them rise for an additional 15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the tops of the rolls with milk for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.
