Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour - 100 grams
  • Water - 80 ml
  • Black sesame paste - 40 grams
  • Sugar - 20 grams
  • Cornstarch - 10 grams
  • Sesame seeds - 30 grams
  • Vegetable oil - for brushing

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour and water to form a smooth dough.
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  4. Flatten each ball into a small disc and place 1/2 teaspoon of black sesame paste in the center.
  5. Carefully fold the edges of the disc over the filling and roll back into a ball, ensuring the filling is sealed inside.
  6. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cornstarch together, then roll each ball in the mixture before coating with sesame seeds.
  7. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  8. Place the sesame balls on the prepared tray and lightly brush the tops with vegetable oil.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
