Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 500 grams
- Black bean sauce - 4 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Hoisin sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Spring onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
- Fresh coriander - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a bowl, mix black bean sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, sesame oil, and red chili flakes to create the marinade.
- Rub the marinade all over the pork ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight.
- Place the marinated ribs on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil, then cover them with another piece of foil to retain moisture.
- Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 hours, until they are tender and cooked through.
- Remove the top layer of foil and increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F).
- Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes to caramelize the sauce, basting with the pan juices halfway through.
- Once the ribs are nicely glazed and caramelized, remove from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Slice the ribs, garnish with chopped spring onions and fresh coriander, and serve hot.
