Ingredients

  • Pork ribs - 500 grams
  • Black bean sauce - 4 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Hoisin sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Fresh coriander - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix black bean sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, sesame oil, and red chili flakes to create the marinade.
  3. Rub the marinade all over the pork ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight.
  4. Place the marinated ribs on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil, then cover them with another piece of foil to retain moisture.
  5. Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 hours, until they are tender and cooked through.
  6. Remove the top layer of foil and increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F).
  7. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes to caramelize the sauce, basting with the pan juices halfway through.
  8. Once the ribs are nicely glazed and caramelized, remove from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Slice the ribs, garnish with chopped spring onions and fresh coriander, and serve hot.
