- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Warm water - 120 ml
- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black beans - 150 grams (canned, drained and rinsed)
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Carrot - 1 medium, shredded
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Chili sauce - 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams, shredded
- Cilantro - a handful, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- In a skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the red and green bell peppers and shredded carrot. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Add the black beans, soy sauce, and chili sauce to the skillet, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the black bean and veggie mixture evenly over the dough. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped cilantro, slice, and serve hot.
