Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Ground chicken - 200 grams
- Scallions - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Soy sauce - 15 ml
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Black pepper - 2 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms (about 10 minutes).
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing ground chicken, scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and minced garlic in a bowl.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place 1-2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture in the center of each circle, then fold the edges over to seal, pinching to ensure they are well closed.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the filled Bing Tang on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the Bing Tang with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Bing Tang warm.
