Ingredients
- Whole fish (such as tilapia or trout) - 400 grams, cleaned and scaled
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 3 tablespoons
- Rice wine (Shaoxing wine) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Scallions - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the gluten-free soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, chili flakes, black pepper, salt, and lemon juice to create the marinade.
- Place the cleaned fish in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the fish is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Once marinated, carefully place the fish on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle chopped scallions and cilantro over the fish for added flavor.
- Remove the fish from the grill and serve immediately with extra lime wedges for garnish.
