Ingredients
- Beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced
- Carrots - 2 medium, julienned
- Onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, garlic, and ginger, and stir-fry for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the julienned carrots to the pan and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
- Return the beef to the pan. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and 100 milliliters of water. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and mix well. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
