Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced
  • Carrots - 2 medium, julienned
  • Onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, garlic, and ginger, and stir-fry for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the julienned carrots to the pan and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the pan. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and 100 milliliters of water. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and mix well. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
